Great location for fishing. The most common fish in Morrison Ranch Lake are Largemouth Bass, Channel Catfish, and Bluegill. This pond is a great place to teach kids how to fish. The pond is stocked with fish making it exciting and easy to catch a fish. Literally thousands of kids have been able to catch a fish at Morrison Ranch Lake. The lake is a small part of a much larger master planned community that goes by the same name Morrison Ranch. The development sits on the eastern part of Gilbert. Sandwiched between the 60 and 202 freeways. In recent years Gilbert has been one of the fastest growing cities in America. Large developments like Morrison Ranch, which cover over 3,000 acres of land, have been key driving forces for this growth.
The community provides residential and commercial buildings. Surrounding areas provide plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, and additional entertainment for the Morrison Ranch community. One of my favorite locations for local beer and live music is the Four Silos brewery which is just across the street from the lake. They have craft beers, coffee, and artisan food like bruschetta boards and panini's to mention a few of the menus items. Further up the road but a nice walk or bike ride from the lake is one of Gilbert residents favorite bakeries called "Rise Up Bakery". The cinnamon rolls are a locals favorite.
The lake has numerous walking trails both around the lake and leading towards the lake from other parts of the large development. Dogs are welcome at the lake but they need to be on a leash. And keep in mind the lake is to be enjoyed and can be fished from, but there is not swimming or paddle boarding allowed in the lake. Same thing with your dogs, please keep them out of the recycled water.
One of the unique things about the lake is the large fountain that spits water 50+ feet into the sky. On windy days be careful as the water can easily carry out of the lake and get you wet. Next to the lake there is ample parking. Part of the reason for so much parking is the Business center that provides local office space. The office space is close to the 60 freeway and provides easy access for different parts of the east valley.
