Gilbert Regional Park phase #1 was completed in fall of 2019. Phase one consisted two large playgrounds and a 4,000 square foot splash pad. With the summer temperatures being so hot we wanted local families to have a safe, clean, and fun place to stay cool. Phase #1 knocked it out of the park :) and provided an incredible place for families and friends to hang out.
Phase #1B consisted of a large lake, basketball courts, volleyball courts, pickle ball courts, tennis courts, walking trail, massive grass area and an amphitheater for outdoor concerts. With phase #1 completed Gilbert Regional Park has become a local favorite for thousands of families. On any given day picnics, family reunions, birthday parties, recreational sports, and dog training can all be taking place at the same time.
On some mornings you will see local hot air balloons land on the large Gilbert grass.
The complex has already hosted numerous events including several highly competitive Pickle Ball tournaments. Pickle Ball has become one of the fastest growing sports in America. Gilbert provides world class courts and a family fun environment to enjoy and learn this popular and still growing sport. The temperatures in Arizona can get hot so all of the facilities have lights and allow people to enjoy the park after the sunsets. Our volleyball courts even have sprinklers to help keep the sand cool and the dust down.
What is amazing, is that there are still additional phases before the master plan is completed. The city of Gilbert is still reviewing plans to create Gilberts first water park. The new water park is considering having a surfer lagoon, sand beach, restaurants, coffee shops, and a wave pool. Details are still being decided, but what is clear is that Gilbert Parks are some of the nicest, cleanest parks in the country. Stop by today, have fun and build community.
