Communication tools that bring you closer instead of turning into ammunition. A shared way to practice without keeping score. Skills you both own. We coach you together at our Chandler office, about 12 minutes from Carrington College, or online.

30 minutes, free, no obligation. Both of you on the call.

Short answer: our office is at 3075 W Ray Rd #200 in Chandler, at Loop 101 and Ray Road. From Carrington College on W Southern Ave in Mesa it's about 12 minutes. We coach couples together, and it starts with a free 30-minute consultation.

Carrington College's Mesa campus, at 1001 W Southern Ave, trains people for health care careers, from dental assisting to nursing. Anyone who has learned a skill like that knows a tool works only as well as the hand holding it.

That is true for relationship tools too. A good tool can build connection, and the same tool can be turned into criticism, mockery or score-settling. We teach one rule up front: do not weaponize the tools. Whether you are engaged or married, the skills only help when you use them with the right heart.

Don't Weaponize the Tools: Four Checks

Before you use a communication skill on your spouse, run these checks.

The Same Tool, Two Outcomes A good skill Heart check Connection asking, owning Ammunition scoring, mocking Same words. The heart behind them decides the result.

Download the one-page worksheet (PDF) and fill it in together.

1

Check your heart first

Ask what you want from the next five minutes. If the answer is "to win" or "to prove a point," put the tool down.

2

Use it on yourself first

Practice the skill on your own side before you point it at your spouse. Ownership comes before feedback.

3

Ask, don't announce

"Can we try this together?" invites. "You're doing it wrong" accuses. The words you choose decide which one you are doing.

4

Drop the scorecard

If you catch yourself keeping a tally of who used the tool better, you are weaponizing it. Start the count over.

A tool without the right heart posture is just ammunition. A tool with it builds the marriage.

What This Looks Like With Us

A tool to use tonight

Each session ends with one practical step to take at home. You practice it between sessions, then we refine it together.

No sides, no scorekeeping

We don't take sides, and we don't offer individual work. Both of you show up, and both of you own your part.

Real coaches, real marriage

You'll be matched with Sarah-Gayle or me on your consultation. Sarah-Gayle holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific, and works here as a coach, not a clinician. I'm an ordained minister. We've been married more than twenty years and have coached thousands of couples.

Coaching, not therapy. We don't diagnose, we don't treat mental health conditions, and we don't bill insurance. Both partners come to every session, and we don't offer individual work. If what you need is licensed clinical care, we'll tell you and help you find it.

Questions Couples Ask

How far is your office from Carrington College?

About 12 minutes by car, 7.7 miles, based on Google Maps. The fastest route runs along AZ-101 Loop S. Our office is at 3075 W Ray Rd #200 in Chandler. We also meet online.

How do I know if I'm using a tool the wrong way?

Watch how your spouse responds. If they pull back or get defensive, the tool probably landed as an accusation. We help you adjust the wording and the posture so it invites instead of corners.

Is this something to learn before we're married?

It can be. The same skills help engaged couples build good habits before patterns set in. If you are engaged, we have a program built for that, and the same rule applies: both of you, together.
