30 minutes, free, no obligation. Both of you on the call.

Short answer: our office is at 3075 W Ray Rd #200 in Chandler, at Loop 101 and Ray Road. From Noble Library on the Arizona State University campus in Tempe it's about 20 minutes. We coach couples together, and it starts with a free 30-minute consultation.

Noble Library is the Daniel E. Noble Science and Engineering Library at Arizona State University, at 601 E Tyler Mall in Tempe. It is a place people go to get the details right.

Couples run into a different kind of detail problem. What you said and what your spouse heard can turn out to be two different messages, even when the words were careful. You may know the telephone game, where a whisper passes down a line and comes out changed. A marriage only has two people in the line, and it still happens. So we teach a short habit for catching the gap early.

The Telephone Game: What You Said Versus What They Heard

Four moves, and none of them take more than a minute.

1

Say what you meant

Put the one thing you want your spouse to know into a single sentence. Start with what you feel or need. The details come second.

2

Ask what they heard

Skip "Did you understand me?" Try "What did you hear me say?" Then listen without correcting.

3

Name the gap without blame

If it came out different, say "That's not what I meant, and I can see how it landed that way." You are not trying to win the replay.

4

Say it again, shorter

Try once more with fewer words. The second version usually lands.

It will feel clunky at first. Laugh at yourselves. A gap you catch in a minute costs far less than one you carry for a week.

What This Looks Like With Us

Built around your real week

Sessions happen at our Chandler office or online. We help you build habits that fit the schedule you actually have.

Both of you, every time

We don't offer individual sessions. Each of you owns your own side, and both of you grow at the same time. Nobody is the project.

Coached by someone who's been there

You'll work with Sarah-Gayle or me, matched on your consultation. Sarah-Gayle holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific, and works here as a coach, not a clinician. I'm an ordained minister. We've been married more than twenty years and have coached thousands of couples.

Coaching, not therapy. We don't diagnose, we don't treat mental health conditions, and we don't bill insurance. Both partners come to every session, and we don't offer individual work. If what you need is licensed clinical care, we'll tell you and help you find it.
