Hope Relentless
Couples Counselor Near The Goddard School of Chandler
Ten minutes at the end of the day that belong to the two of you, not the kids. Handoffs that feel like teamwork instead of a scorecard. A marriage that still has room in it while your home is full of little ones. We coach the two of you together at our Chandler office, under three miles from The Goddard School, or online.
30 minutes, free, no obligation. Both of you on the call.
The little-kid years are full in every sense of the word. Morning drop-off, two workdays, pickup, dinner, baths, bedtime. Then a few quiet minutes at the end where you're both too tired to talk about much besides tomorrow's schedule.
Most couples in this season are great co-parents. They cover the handoffs, back each other up, and keep the whole machine running. What gets squeezed out is the part where you're spouses and not just business partners in a very demanding family business.
The answer usually isn't a weekend away, as nice as that would be. It's a small rhythm you can actually keep in this season, one that fits after bedtime and before you both fall asleep.
The HOPES Check-In: Ten Minutes After Bedtime
HOPES is a short guided share we give couples who have almost no margin. One of you shares while the other listens and reflects back what they heard. Then you switch.
H: How's your heart?
One honest word or sentence about where you are on the inside. Not what you did today. How you're doing.
O: Opportunities I could use support
Where the week feels heavy and what would actually help. Say it as a request, not a complaint.
P: Personal disappointments
Something that didn't go the way you hoped. Your part of it, said without blame.
E: Excitement
Something you're looking forward to, even a small one. Little-kid years can go gray fast, and this keeps a little color in them.
S: Share appreciation
One specific thing your spouse did that you noticed. Specific lands. "Thanks for handling pickup when my meeting ran over" beats "thanks for everything."
It will feel scripted at first. Scripted is fine. It's a guide, not a law, and the structure is what makes it doable when you're both running on empty.

What This Looks Like With Us
Built for a full season
Sessions happen at our Chandler office or online. We help you set up rhythms that fit the life you have now, not the one you had before kids.
Both of you, every time
We don't offer individual sessions. Each of you owns your own side, and both of you grow at the same time. Nobody is the project.
Coached by someone who's been there
You'll work with Sarah-Gayle or me, matched on your consultation. Sarah-Gayle holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific, and works here as a coach, not a clinician. I'm an ordained minister. We've been married more than twenty years and have coached thousands of couples.
Questions Couples Ask
We barely have time for each other. How do we fit coaching in?
Most couples in this season feel that way. Sessions can happen online, so there's no extra drive, and the tools we teach are built to fit into the time you already have, like ten minutes after bedtime. We'll talk through timing on the free 30-minute consultation.
Our kids are doing great. Why focus on the marriage right now?
Because the marriage is part of what your kids are growing up inside. A steady, connected marriage is one of the best things you can give them, and the little-kid years are when the habits that carry you through the next twenty years get set.
Is ten minutes a night really enough to make a difference?
Ten minutes done regularly does more than an occasional big talk. Small deposits add up. The goal isn't a perfect check-in every night. It's a rhythm that keeps you connected enough that the hard conversations have somewhere safe to land.
Make Room for the Two of You
Thirty minutes, free, both of you on the call. We'll tell you honestly whether we're the right fit.
