Hope Relentless
Marriage Counselor Near Antioch Community Church in Chandler
A way back to each other after a blowup. Five steps that turn a bad night into a repair instead of a wall. A marriage that gets faster at coming back together. We coach the two of you together, about seven minutes from Antioch Community Church, or online.
30 minutes, free, no obligation. Both of you on the call.
Saturday night goes sideways. Words get said. By Sunday morning you're both quiet, getting ready, and neither of you knows who goes first.
Healthy couples argue. What separates them is how quickly they come back together. Under stress, what's in us comes out of us. The goal isn't to never blow it. It's to take responsibility for how we argue and how fast we repair.
Repair is a skill, and it has an order. Here's the one we teach.
The Repair Roadmap: Five Steps Back
Use it after the dust settles, whether the blowup was last night or last month.
Proactive
Go first. Don't wait for your spouse to come to you. Taking the initiative is already part of the apology.
Humble ownership
Use I-statements and own your part, only your part. "I got defensive and raised my voice" repairs. "I'm sorry you feel that way" doesn't.
Reassurance
Tell your spouse you're on the same team. The fight was about something. Your marriage is not the thing in question.
Apologize: regret, remorse, repentance
Regret names it specifically. Remorse shows you feel the impact on them. Repentance names the turn you'll make going forward.
Forgiveness
Forgive your spouse, and forgive yourself. We choose to forgive in response to God forgiving us, and it is a choice we make again as often as needed.
Repair can feel clunky at first. Couples who keep at it because the marriage is worth it are the ones who find it works.

What This Looks Like With Us
Repair, not a replay
We don't relitigate the fight. We teach you how to come back from it, so the next one is shorter and the return is faster.
Both of you, every time
We don't offer individual sessions. Each of you owns your own side, and both of you grow at the same time. Nobody is the project.
Coached by someone who's been there
You'll work with Sarah-Gayle or me, matched on your consultation. Sarah-Gayle holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific, and works here as a coach, not a clinician. I'm an ordained minister. We've been married more than twenty years and have coached thousands of couples.

Who should apologize first?
The one who's ready. The Roadmap starts with being proactive, and going first isn't losing. It's leading. Neither of you has to wait for the other to be perfect.
What if I apologize and my spouse isn't ready to forgive yet?
Repair isn't a switch. Your part is a sincere apology with regret, remorse and repentance. Their part comes on their timeline. We help both of you work through it, together, so forgiveness has room to arrive.
