Hope Relentless
Marriage Counselor Near Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa
Decisions you both can live with, even in a hard season. A way to talk through a stressful week without it becoming a standoff. A marriage that survives long shifts and bad news. Our office is in Chandler, about ten minutes from Banner Desert Medical Center, and we also meet online.
30 minutes, free, no obligation. Both of you on the call.
Whether you work shifts at a hospital, are caring for someone in one, or are just coming off a brutal week, hard seasons change what a marriage can carry. Energy is low. Decisions are heavy. Every conversation feels like it has to end in an answer.
That pressure is where couples start to dig in. One wants it handled tonight. The other wants space. Each starts to feel like an opponent.
The shift is learning that not every conversation needs the same ending, and that the answer is usually both/and, not either/or.
Solution-Based Agreement: Three Ways a Conversation Can End
This is the third step of the Communication Loop. Once both of you feel heard, the conversation lands in one of three places.
Just heard
Sometimes the whole point is to be heard. "Thanks for letting me share. That feels good." The Loop is complete and nobody has to do anything.
Agreement with next steps
Make a positive request, invite a collaborative response, then confirm and commit. A counter-offer is part of the process, as long as it stays solution-based.
An unsolvable, perpetual problem
Some things don't resolve. The focus shifts from solving it to how the two of you handle it together, with respect and without the same fight.
Flexibility is strength, not surrender. Progress beats perfection, especially in a season when you're both running on empty.

What This Looks Like With Us
Built for hard seasons
Sessions happen at our Chandler office or online, and we help you plan around the schedule you really have.
Both of you, every time
We don't offer individual sessions. Each of you owns your own side, and both of you grow at the same time. Nobody is the project.
Coached by someone who's been there
You'll work with Sarah-Gayle or me, matched on your consultation. Sarah-Gayle holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific, and works here as a coach, not a clinician. I'm an ordained minister. We've been married more than twenty years and have coached thousands of couples.
Questions Couples Ask
How far is your office from Banner Desert Medical Center?
About ten minutes by car, roughly 6.5 miles, at typical traffic, mostly on the 101. Our office is in Chandler at 3075 W Ray Rd #200, not in Mesa. We also meet online.
We work opposite shifts and barely overlap. Can coaching still work?
Yes. The tools are short and built for small windows. Online sessions remove the commute, and we'll help you find the few minutes that matter most.
What if our problem can't be solved?
Then you're in the third bucket, and that's not failure. The goal shifts to how you talk about it, so it stops damaging the rest of the marriage. Many lasting couples carry a few of these.
