Hope Relentless

Marriage Counselor Near Baseline and Dobson in Mesa

Conversations about how you actually feel, not just who is picking up whom. A short check-in that moves you from logistics to each other. A marriage that doesn't run on calendar updates. Our office is in Chandler, about nine minutes from Baseline and Dobson, and we also meet online.

30 minutes, free, no obligation. Both of you on the call.

Short answer: our office is in Chandler, not Mesa, at 3075 W Ray Rd #200, where Ray Road meets Loop 101. From Baseline and Dobson it's about nine minutes. We coach couples together, and it starts with a free 30-minute consultation.

A lot of couples around the Baseline and Dobson corridor live on the freeway and the calendar. Work, commute, home, repeat. You can talk all day and never say how you feel.

Data is easy. "I had a long day," "traffic was bad," "the meeting ran over." Feelings are harder and they're what build intimacy. A marriage that only trades information slowly starts to feel like a shared office.

A short, structured check-in makes the harder thing doable.

SASHET: A Feelings Check-In in Six Words

Pick one of the six feelings below and finish the sentence, "I felt ____, when ____." Then switch. Your spouse's only job is to listen and reflect back.

1

Sad

"I felt sad when we skipped our weekend plans." Sadness is easy to hide behind tiredness.

2

Angry

"I felt angry when the plan changed without a heads-up." Say it with ownership, not blame.

3

Scared

"I felt scared when the budget came up." Fear is often under frustration.

4

Happy

"I felt happy when you texted me during the day." Name the good, specifically.

5

Excited

"I felt excited when we talked about the trip." It keeps anticipation in the marriage.

6

Tender

"I felt tender when you held my hand at dinner." These small moments are the glue.

It's a guide, not a law. Even two minutes is enough. The point is that feelings get said out loud and heard.

What This Looks Like With Us

Feelings, practiced

We don't just explain SASHET. You do a check-in in the room, with both of you, and take it home.

Both of you, every time

We don't offer individual sessions. Each of you owns your own side, and both of you grow at the same time. Nobody is the project.

Coached by someone who's been there

You'll work with Sarah-Gayle or me, matched on your consultation. Sarah-Gayle holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific, and works here as a coach, not a clinician. I'm an ordained minister. We've been married more than twenty years and have coached thousands of couples.

Coaching, not therapy. We don't diagnose, we don't treat mental health conditions, and we don't bill insurance. Both partners come to every session, and we don't offer individual work. If what you need is licensed clinical care, we'll tell you and help you find it.

Questions Couples Ask

How far is your office from Baseline and Dobson?

About nine minutes by car, roughly 5.4 miles, at typical traffic, mostly on the 101. Our office is in Chandler at 3075 W Ray Rd #200, not in Mesa. We also meet online.

Why do we need a formula just to share how we feel?

Because most of us default to data. A short structure gives both of you a way in. Over time the structure fades and the habit stays.

What if one of us isn't a feelings person?

That's very common. Six simple words are a lower bar than "tell me how you feel." Most people can find one of the six. We start there, and the vocabulary grows.
