30 minutes, free, no obligation. Both of you on the call.
Most couples don't have a hundred different arguments. They have one argument that wears different clothes. The subject changes, the script doesn't.
A walk around a park can calm things down. It doesn't change the pattern that started the fight. Naming the pattern does.
There are four that do the most damage, and each one has an antidote. Start by spotting your own, not your spouse's.
The Four Horsemen and Their Antidotes
These are four destructive patterns drawn from relationship research, and we teach the antidote to each one in plain language.
Criticism: use a gentle start-up
Swap "you never" for an I-statement that's specific and ends with a positive request. It's the same skill as the Proactive Start.
Contempt: build appreciation and respect
Eye-rolling, mocking and sarcasm are the most corrosive of the four. The antidote is a steady habit of noticing and naming what you respect.
Defensiveness: take responsibility
Find the one piece that's yours and own it, even when it's small. It often ends the round on the spot.
Stonewalling: self-soothe and re-engage
Say you need a break and when you'll be back. Calm yourself, then return. Going silent without saying so lands as abandonment.
Don't use this list on your spouse. Read it for yourself, and bring one honest observation about your own habit. Humility meets humility.

What This Looks Like With Us
Patterns, not blame
We name the pattern both of you are caught in, so the problem becomes the pattern and not each other.
Both of you, every time
We don't offer individual sessions. Each of you owns your own side, and both of you grow at the same time. Nobody is the project.
Coached by someone who's been there
You'll work with Sarah-Gayle or me, matched on your consultation. Sarah-Gayle holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific, and works here as a coach, not a clinician. I'm an ordained minister. We've been married more than twenty years and have coached thousands of couples.
Questions Couples Ask
How far is your office from Shawnee Park?
About nine minutes by car, roughly 3.5 miles, at typical traffic. Our office is at 3075 W Ray Rd #200. We also meet online.
How do we know which pattern is ours?
Most couples recognize one or two right away. We'll help each of you name your own, not your spouse's, and then practice the antidote in the room.
Is stepping away from an argument stonewalling?
Not if you say so. Telling your spouse you need a break and when you'll come back is healthy. Going silent with no word is what feels like abandonment. The difference is the plan to return.
