Hope Relentless
Marriage Counselor Near Tempe History Museum in Tempe
Knowing why a certain tone or look lands so hard. A way to love each other well in the spots that are most tender. Less guessing about what the other one needs. We coach you together at our Chandler office, about sixteen minutes from the Tempe History Museum, or online.
30 minutes, free, no obligation. Both of you on the call.
A history museum lays the past out on purpose. You can take your time, walk through it, and see how things became what they are. Every marriage has a gallery like that, and so does each person in it.
Most of us do not react to this morning alone. We react to this morning plus every morning like it before. That is why a small comment can land like a big one. It isn't drama. It's history.
Triggers and Target Zones
A short exercise from our coaching. One trigger each is plenty to start.
Name one trigger
Each of you picks one. Growing up with a critical parent, for example, can make criticism hit harder today. Say it plainly. "This is a tender spot for me."
See the whole story
When a reaction feels bigger than the moment, it is usually carrying more than the moment. Knowing that about yourself comes before deciding what your spouse meant.
Make their trigger your target zone
A target zone is a place you get to love your spouse on purpose. Offer grace and patience right where they are tender. You become a safe place instead of another source of pressure.
Keep your own growth your own job
Knowing your trigger does not excuse a sharp response. Taking personal responsibility for it is still yours. Your spouse's care helps. It does not replace your work.
You are not digging up everything. You are learning one thing about each other and what helps in that moment.

What This Looks Like With Us
Built around your real week
Sessions happen at our Chandler office or online. We pick one trigger each and build the practice around your actual week.
Both of you, every time
We don't offer individual sessions. Each of you owns your own side, and both of you grow at the same time. Nobody is the project.
Coached by someone who's been there
You'll work with Sarah-Gayle or me, matched on your consultation. Sarah-Gayle holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific, and works here as a coach, not a clinician. I'm an ordained minister. We've been married more than twenty years and have coached thousands of couples.
