30 minutes, free, no obligation. Both of you on the call.
Long trails and open sky give you the one thing a busy week doesn't: room to be quiet together. Plenty of couples fill that quiet with updates. How was work, what's for dinner, who has what this week.
Facts keep a household running. Feelings keep a marriage close. Most of us are better at the first than the second, and that gap is where couples start to feel like roommates. There's a simple way to close it.
SASHET: A Check-In for Your Heart
Pick a feeling word
SASHET stands for Sad, Angry, Scared, Happy, Excited, Tender. Choose the one that fits right now. You don't need to explain it yet.
Share it with a moment
Use the formula: I felt this, when that happened. Keep it to your own experience. This is not the time to talk about your spouse.
Listen and reflect
The listener hears it, reflects it back and thanks them for sharing. Don't fix it and don't correct it.
Swap and repeat
Trade places. Two or three feelings each is plenty. A few minutes on a walk is enough to start.
Sharing feelings, not just data, is how intimacy grows. It's a guide, not a law, and it works best when both of you go first at the same time.

What This Looks Like With Us
Built around your real week
We coach couples online or at our Chandler office, and we help you set up habits that fit the schedule you actually have.
Both of you, every time
We don't offer individual sessions. Each of you owns your own side, and both of you grow at the same time. Nobody is the project.
Coached by someone who's been there
You'll work with Sarah-Gayle or me, matched on your consultation. Sarah-Gayle holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific, and works here as a coach, not a clinician. I'm an ordained minister. We've been married more than twenty years and have coached thousands of couples.
Questions Couples Ask
What if I don't know what I'm feeling?
That's very common. Start with the six SASHET words and pick the closest one. The list is there so you don't have to find the word yourself. The more you practice, the faster it comes.
Why share feelings if we already talk every day?
Talking every day and sharing feelings are different things. Daily talk is mostly data. Naming what you felt, and when, is what builds closeness, and it's often the missing piece.
What if my spouse isn't a feelings person?
Plenty of people aren't, at first. Start small and go first yourself. Using SASHET gives your spouse a simple structure, and structure makes it a lot easier to take part.
