Spiritual Intimacy for Couples in Chandler, AZ

A faith you actually practice together, instead of two people believing the same things in separate rooms. Starting with the one thing most Christian couples avoid.

30 minutes, free, no obligation. Both of you on the call.

Short answer: plenty of Christian couples believe all the same things and have never once prayed out loud together. That gap is more common than anyone admits from a stage.

Praying together is one of the most vulnerable things two people can do. More vulnerable than most conversations, and for a lot of couples, more exposing than physical intimacy.

So it gets avoided, and the avoidance gets explained. We're not really the praying-out-loud type. It feels performative. I don't know what to say.

I understand all of those, and I'd still tell you it's worth pushing through, because the couples who get past it describe it as the thing that changed the most.

Where we'd start

1

Short and honest beats long and impressive

Nobody is grading this. Two sentences out loud is a real prayer. Most couples freeze because they think there's a standard, and there isn't.

2

Pray about what's actually happening

Not general and safe. The thing you're worried about this week. That's what makes it connection instead of a recital.

3

Pick a rhythm you'll actually keep

Once a week you honor beats every day you abandon in nine days. Start smaller than feels impressive.

4

Let it be uneven

One of you will find this easier. That's normal and it isn't a scoreboard. The one it comes easily to leads gently, and doesn't grade the other one.

Expect it to be awkward. Awkward is the entry fee, and it's shorter than you think.

Christian Marriage Counseling in Chandler

What This Looks Like With Us

We'll do it with you before you do it alone

Doing something uncomfortable for the first time with a coach in the room is easier than the two of you staring at each other on a Tuesday night deciding who goes first.

Faith goes as deep as you want it

Some couples want scripture in every session and prayer to open and close. Others want a Christian coach and mostly practical work. Both are fine, and we'll ask you rather than assume.

We don't grade your spiritual life

There's no quiz about church attendance or where you land on secondary issues. Chad is an ordained minister and Sarah-Gayle has been in ministry settings for years, and neither of us is interested in scoring you.

Coaching, not therapy. We don't diagnose, we don't treat mental health conditions, and we don't bill insurance. Both partners come to every session, and we don't offer individual work. If what you need is licensed clinical care, we'll tell you and help you find it.

Questions Couples Ask

We have never prayed out loud together. Is that unusual?

It is extremely common, including among couples who have been in church their whole lives. It is one of the most frequent things we hear and one of the least frequently admitted. You are not behind.

What if one of us is further along in faith than the other?

That is most couples, honestly. It becomes a problem when it turns into a scoreboard, where one person is spiritually in charge and the other is being evaluated. We would work on that dynamic before we worked on any practice, because the practice will not hold on top of it.

Do we have to be part of a church for this?

No. We work with couples who are deeply plugged in, couples between churches, and couples who have been hurt by one and are cautious. None of those disqualify you and we are not going to quiz you about it.
